We’re not afraid of trying something new

We hope you aren’t either. We built a stalwart brewing system to keep your favorites flowing, but we also built a second system for our small-batch, one-of-a-kind, sometimes crazy beers we love to experiment with.

Our Beer

Brewpub Favorites, Made with Love

Our in-house smoker is the heart of our kitchen, infusing our homemade sausages, seasonal small plates, and hearty entrees with a delicious smokiness. Drawing inspiration from the vibrant food scene of New Orleans, our menu reflects a love for upscale comfort food that's constantly evolving, showcasing the best ingredients from the Midwest.

Our Food

Our heart is in Homewood

Carmela Wallace, mother of the late Jarad, aka Juice WRLD, lived with him in Homewood. Inspired by their time here, she sees HBC as both a tribute to Jarad and a way to give back to the community she loves.

HBC broke ground in 2023 in a space formerly home to Bogart’s and opened in 2024 as a vibrant, creative, and welcoming space for great food, great beer, and community gatherings.

Our Story

Giving back

Carmela founded the Live Free 999 Foundation to honor her son, Jarad — known to the world as Juice WRLD — whose music deeply connected with fans facing similar struggles. His legacy lives on through the foundation’s support of mental health.

HBC proudly supports Live Free 999 by donating proceeds from a benefit beer on tap and through regular fundraising events.
